What’s the largest tires you can fit on a 2WD Sprinter Van?

So, what’s the largest sized tires you can fit on a 2WD Stock Sprinter Van?

Our 2013 Crew Van was the test mule for th VanCompass Striker lift kit. It’s a 2” body lift that does a great job of keeping all the stock geometry in the van but making room for larger tires. Larger tires means better ground clearance.

The stock tire size of the NVC3 and VS30 vans are 245LT75R16. This is a super common size for regular sized pickup trucks and SUV.

  • Diameter of 30.5"

  • Section width of 9.6"

  • Sidewall height 7.23”

  • Wheel diameter of 16"

  • Circumference is 95.7"

  • 682 revolutions per mile

  • Fit 6.5-8" wide wheels.

With the VC Strike Lift we went up to 265LT75R16 with no issues. No rubbing. No fender trimming or anything. The NVC3 vans have a larger wheel well then the new VS30 vans. So this transition was super easy. No spacers were needed to clear the struts. With the larger tires we gained

  • Diameter of 31.6"

  • Width of 10.4"

  • Sidewall Height 7.82”

  • Wheel diameter of 16"

  • Circumference is 99.4"

  • 638 revolutions per mile

  • Fits on 7-9" wide wheels

Speedo reads about 4% slower. At 62mph you’re actually rolling down the road at 59.5mph.

It doesn’t seem like much but you gain about 1.5” of body ground clearance.
