Sprinter Van Wiper & Sprayer Upgrade
Our 2020 shop van came with the MB Wet Wiper System and immediately we fell in love with it. Especially at speed or with snow on the van, these jets across the entire blade made for an even coverage of water on the windshield.
From MB: “The WET WIPER SYSTEM windscreen wiper system offers the driver improved vision even during the wiping process. Washer fluid is sprayed directly ahead of the wiper blades and wiped away immediately. Thanks to the concentrated distribution, the consumption of cleaning fluid is significantly reduced.
Other road users and pedestrians benefit from this, too: they are not affected by the spray of the cleaning fluid.”
Now, how about fitting these backwards for older vans like the T1N or NVC3? For those of you with NVC3 2007 thru 2018 Sprinters who dislike your windshield washer system the great news is that these are an easy simple swap.
Blades were $60 and the arms were about $80
But wait, why not just get the new style blades? MB pulled a fast one. You cannot simply just get the newer blades and put them on your old arms, the new blades have a different connection interface. So the newer arms are required where the washer fluid travels up through a hose on the arm then into the blade itself where it squirts out small holes that are drilled all the way down the length of the blade.
The OEM washer nozzles on the 2013 NVC3 clip onto the arm and they break off super easy, especially when washing the window with a squeegee or sweeping off snow in the winter. They also don't always spray the whole windshield or where you actually want the fluid to go. With these newer wipers, the fluid is evenly distributed onto the windshield and works great for cleaning off that winter grime.
