G Wagon 18” wheels on a T1N
We have been fans of the G Wagon Wheels on Sprinter Vans for years. With winter coming not only using these larger wheels is cool but fitting them with proper snow tires to enable a 2WD van is critical to safely using a T1N for winter mountain adventures.
The large 18” wheels force you to use lower profile tires. There are two different 18” wheels that will fit a T1N Sprinter van. (OE Part Number: B660331036)

“For anyone who like me goes to the ski hills in Canada or any country for that matter. I highly recommend these tires. I was very nervous heading into my first winter season. Those feelings are now gone. I have went to the mountains a number of times now with 0 problems. I wasn’t in “extreme” weather conditions, but rather in your typical mountain snow and ice. I felt comfortable driving at all times and ran braking and accelerating test throughout. Very expensive tires but they are worth it. Happy winter driving !!”
Clearance for chain runs at about an inch and a half clearance on the back tires. “I have chains that are low profile. I have not put them on yet. The 245/60/R18. Are fairly close in size to the stock 16s. Wider and only a bit taller.”

Some trimming of the mud flap required, but a BFGoodrich KO2 makes a low pro tire to fit. Looks cool but not entirely ideal when having to lower tire pressure as you don’t have as much sidewall to deflect rock and washboard vibrations.
