Travel: Oregon’s first Dark Park
We discovered a Sprinter guy out there traveling in his Sprinter Revel and taking some really nice astrophotography.
One of the things we have discovered is that visiting was the US calls a Dark Sky Park. We posted one we visitors in Utah a couple years ago. This one is on BLM land and like all Dark Sky areas is far away from the noise and light pollution of cities. BLM camping near Prineville State Park, Oregon's first Dark Sky Park, makes for nice clear and dark skies for astrophotography and the use of telescopes! Here's Rogers photos of the Milky Way along with the Jellyfish and Flaming Star nebulas.
More than 14,500 kilometers of open road, circling an entire continent. A journey so long that the seasons change around you—tropical storms in the north, alpine winds in the south, red-desert heat in the west.
